RJR Improvements knows that careful preparation of the surface is essential to a long lasting appearance. This is why the cleaning, scraping (multiple times if necessary), caulking, and sanding will take the longest time.
We dull shiny surfaces so the paint can bite in. We only work in weather that permits the paint to dry properly. The best paint will not stay on a poorly prepared surface, or when not applied in ideal conditions. Don't settle for just a paint job, get it done right. Listed below are the steps we take to give your home a beautiful finish.
Steps We Take:
- Replace and / or Repair wood rot and / or damaged wood and siding
- Scrape all areas of loose paint
- Spot prime bare wood
- Remove shutters, house numbers, lights, etc.
- Remove storm windows
- Powerwash entire house
- Caulk all seams
- Reglaze windows as needed
- Tape / paper all areas not to be painted -- roof line, decking, etc.
- Spray body of house with Kwal Premier 2000 satin acrylic paint
- Brush / roll trim with Kwal Premier 2000 satin acrylic paint
- Scrape paint from windows as needed
- Replace Storms, numbers, shutters, etc.
- Final clean up
- Customer inspection
